On the first night of finals at the 2015 USA Swimming’s Pro Swim Series event in Austin, Katie Ledecky put together a double that once again stirred the speculative pot over what events the four-time world champion is aiming for in Rio.
The 17-year-old Stanford recruit won the opening event of the night, blasting a 54.55 in the women’s 100-meter freestyle before returning to the blocks 40 minutes later to post her fastest in-season swim in the 400 freestyle. She touched in 4:00.47 — the seventh fastest time in history.

Also making waves on Day 1 were Jack Conger and Andrew Seliskar, who have accounted for the last four All-Met Swimmer of the Year honors. Conger posted a 51.64 in the men’s 100 butterfly, moving into the top-10 among U.S. performers in the event. Seliskar took third, adding to a fifth-place finish in the 200 breaststroke earlier in the evening.
